Alberti bass - Alberti bass Alberti bass is a particular kind of accompaniment in music, often used in the classical music era. It was first used by Domenico Alberti, after whom it is named. Alberti bass is a kind of broken chord or arpeggiated accompaniment, where the notes of the chord are presented in the order lowest, highest, middle, highest. This pattern is then repeated. A well known example is found at the beginning of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Sonata, K 545: Alberti bass is usually found in the left hand of pieces for keyboard instruments. However, it is sometimes found in instrumental pieces, Bela Bartok using it towards the end of his String Quartet No. 5, for example..
Domenico Alberti - Domenico Alberti Domenico Alberti (around 1710 - 1740) was an Italian singer, harpsichordist and composer of Baroque Music. Alberti was born in Venice and studied music with Antonio Lotti. He wrote operas, songs and sonatas for keyboard instruments, for which he is best known today. These sonatas frequently employ a particular kind of arpeggiated accompaniment in the left hand which is now known as Alberti bass. It consists of regular broken chordss, with the lowest note sounding first, then the highest, then the middle and then the highest again. This pattern is repeated. Today, Alberti is seen as a very minor composer, and none of his works are played or recorded with any regularity, but Alberti bass was used by many later composers, and became an important.
Accompaniment - The term is also used to describe the music thus played. Accompaniment figures are gestures used repeatedly in the accompaniment, such as Alberti bass or other arpeggios. Harmonic accompaniment is music played to accompany a melody line; it is usually chordal and played by such instruments as (acoustic or electric) guitar, piano, organ and bass guitar, but it can also be played by instruments that ordinary play the melody, such as the violin..
Cerumen - Farmer, 1997). Cerumen is genetically determined – Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type of cerumen (grey and flaky), whereas Caucasians and Africans are more likely to have the wet type (honey-brown to dark-brown and moist; Overfield, 1985). In fact, cerumen type has been used by anthropologists to track human migratory patterns, such as those of the Inuits (Bass & Jackson, 1977). Function Cleaning: Cleaning of the ear canal occurs as a result of the "conveyer belt" process of epithelial migration, aided by jaw movement (Alberti, 1964). Cells formed in the centre of the tympanic membrane migrate outwards from the umbo (at a rate equivalent to that of fingernail growth) to the walls of the ear canal, and accelerate towards the entrance of the ear canal..
Chord (music) - dyad or diad (see interval for more details). It is even possible to give the effect of a full chord with only one note sounding at a time. This is most often done by way of broken chord of arpeggios, where each note in a chord is sounded one after the other. One of the most familiar broken chord figures is Alberti bass. See: accompaniment. Any combination of three or more notes is a chord, although during the common practice period in western music and most popular music some combinations were given more prominence than others (the tonal ones). These more frequently used chords have particular names assigned to them, from the triad, the most simple three-note chord, to far more complex chords. Below is an explanation of some of these..
Piano Sonata, K. 545 (Mozart) - 1788, the same date as his Symphony No. 39. The exact circumstances of the work's composition are not known, however. The work is in three movements: Allegro Andante Rondo The first movement begins with one of the best known examples of Alberti bass: Although the piece is very well known today, it was not published in Mozart's lifetime, first appearing in print in 1805. In Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes animation, the opening bars of the sonata are associated with the character Granny from Tweety and Sylvester cartoons..
Ostinato - what riffs are to popular music. An ostinato is a bit of melody, a chord progression, or a bass figure that is repeated over and over at the same pitch. Ostinato is frequently used in Baroque music, where the basso continuo invites the use of the technique, and fixed forms such as the passacaglia and the chaconne require it. The left hand in boogie woogie piano playing is another. See also Alberti bass..
Kansas (band) - has remained a classic rock radio staple. Band founders Kerry Livgren (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Dave Hope (bass), Phil Ehart (drums) and Robby Steinhardt (violin) had initially formed a group called White Clover. Upon the arrival of Steve Walsh (keyboards) and Rich Williams (guitar), the band's name was changed to Kansas and the group soon won a record deal with Don Kirshner's eponymous label. A somewhat successful debut album, Kansas, was released in 1974, and showcased Kansas' signature mix of guitars, keyboards, vocals, and Steinhardt's ever-present violin submerging American-style boogie-rock in complex arrangements and changing time signatures. Relentless promotion by Kirshner and touring behind the debut album and its two followups slowly brought Kansas' name to households across America. By the time the band's fourth album, Leftoverture (1976) was released, Kansas was.
Kajagoogoo - Eventually the band renamed themselves to Kajagoogoo. They coined this name from a baby's first word... GagaGooGoo! And a with a little bit of alteration it became Kajagoogoo. The band fired Limahl in 1984 and renamed themselves Kaja. They broke up for good in 1986. External Links http://www.kajagoogoo.co.uk/ http://www.kajagoogoo.com/.

King Crimson - band's history, despite continuous rotation of its members, reflects this point of view. Origins Robert Fripp and Michael Giles began discussing the formation of King Crimson in November of 1968, soon before the breakup of the short-lived and unsuccessful band Giles, Giles, and Fripp. The first musician to be added to the lineup was singer-guitarist Greg Lake, who was to play bass and sing. Lyricist Peter Sinfield and composer Ian McDonald were soon recruited, and thus the first incarnation of King Crimson was born. Early in January 1969, the group rehearsed for the first time. Over the course of the year, the first King Crimson album, In the Court of the Crimson King, emerged from the chaos. King Crimson went on tour through England, and later the United States, performing alongside.

At the height of their popularity in the mid 1990s they were more successful than The Pixies, and scored a number of MTV hits. Although the band went into stasis in 1994, they never officially split up, and in 2002 returned with a new album Title TK..
King's X - Its lineup has been consistent: Jerry Gaskill (drums) Doug Pinnick (electric bass) Ty Tabor (electric guitar) All three musicians sing, although Pinnick handles most of the lead vocals. One of the identifying characteristics of the band has been their harmonically rich vocal arrangements, which have often been compared to work by The Beatles. King's X has struggled with being identified as a Christian Metal band. Many of their lyrics have a clear Christian influence but this comes from the individual faith of the members rather than an attempt to tap into that market in the way groups such as Stryper did.
