Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible - Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible Latter-day Saints believe that after Joseph Smith, Jr finished translating the Book of Mormon, he was commanded to make an inspired "translation" of the Bible which is known as the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible or JST. The "translation" was not a translation from ancient documents per se, but rather believed to be an inspired “rendering” or “restoration” of available documents to their original meanings. There is little evidence to suggest that Smith used any ancient documents, and his process sheds some light on his "translating" process used both during the translation of the Book of Mormon and the Bible. The translation took place from about 1830 until Smith's death in 1844 when he was preparing the manuscript for publication. The bulk.
Important verses from the Bible - Important verses from the Bible Numerous important verses from the Bible are known well enough to be referenced rather than quoted. Here are some of them: Genesis 2:17 is a key Bible verse for discussions about the fall of man and Original sin. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (KJV) Even though Adam and Eve are described as eating the fruit, they did not "die" immediately (in the physical sense). According to the Unification Church interpretation, they "died" in a spiritual sense: their relationship with God was cut off..

Verses criticizing Jews in the Old Testament - the Old Testament Some verses in the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible, Old Testament), especially in the prophets, contain criticisms by Jewish leaders or prophets about the behaviour of the Jews. Examples include Isaiah 1:4-5: Woe to you sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a wicked seed, ungracious children; they have forsaken the Lord; they have blasphemed the Holy One of Israel, they have gone away backwards. For what shall I smite you more, you that increase transgression. Such verses express a dramatic account of the relationship between God and Jews; they also clearly express the Jewish prophets' criticisms of either political leaders, or some of their followers for not following their own traditions. In both cases, Jews believe that such statements are a call from the prophets to chastise those people.

Ventriloquism - with a wooden dummy on his lap. This comedic style of ventriloquism, however, is a fairly recent innovation, less than 100 years old. The roots of ventriloquism are ancient. Some claim that possessed people mentioned in the Bible were just ventriloquists, and the case has been made that diviners in many religions, including perhaps the Oracle of Delphi, were ventriloquists, or as they were once called, "Belly Talkers." The version of ventriloquism with which most people are familiar, ventriloquism as entertainment, began in the days of Vaudeville in the late 19th century. Yes drummer Bill Bruford was next to sign up, a move which was deemed a poor career move by some. Bruford was choosing to leave Yes, a band with immense commercial potential, for.
