Ctrl Alt Del (webcomic) - Ctrl Alt Del (webcomic) Ctrl+Alt+Del is a gaming-centered web comic written by Tim Buckley, known online as Absath. CAD's tagline is "Tragically l337", a nod to The Tragically Hip. It premeired on October 23, 2002, and is currently updated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The strip features a pair of gamers as the main characters, along with a Linux junkie and a gamer girl who is the main character's girlfriend. A good deal of the humor in this strip is completely random, with the rest being mainly game-oriented. There is very little continuity between strips, with the main character Ethan getting killed in several randomly violent ways and returning unscathed the next day. There are occasional story arcs, but those again have little effect on.

IceWM - files stored in ~/.icewm, making it easy to copy settings. IceVM has an optional, built in task bar with menu, tasks display, network and cpu meters, mail check and configurable clock. IceWM catches alt-ctrl-del by default. Official support for gnome and kde menus are available as a separate package. External graphical programs for editing configuration and menu exist. Displaying icons on the desktop requires external programs. Unlike KDE and GNOME, IceWM does not contain an automounter. Starting to use IceWM requires writing a ~/.Xclients manually..

Bigger Than Cheeses - and their sometimes funny, sometimes disgusting, and sometimes just plain strange antics. The author has a strange hate for fellow web comic Ctrl+Alt+Del, and there is an entire page on the Bigger Than Cheeses website dedicated to discussing why BTC is better than Ctrl+Alt+Del. The unusual name of the comic apparently comes from the fact that, when said aloud (Especially with a British accent), it sounds like "Bigger than Jesus," which is both a Beatles quote and amusing blasphemy. According to Seah, he would have called it Bigger Than Jesus, but too many people would have protested and it would have been more trouble than it was worth. Winter-een-mas - a rather psychotic character in the web comic Ctrl+Alt+Del Online. At first Winter-een-mas lasted all winter and people were expected to revere Ethan as royalty. It was not very succesful. A year later, Winter-een-mas was refined into a holiday that promotes unity and goodwill between all gamers, as well as obscene amounts of video gaming. The actual festival takes place during January 25 - 31, while Winter-een-mas season lasts all January. Celebration is involuntary..

Duke - subsequently granted to anyone outside the royal family. In the United Kingdom, there is nothing about the particular dukedom that makes it "royal." Rather, these peerages are called "royal dukedoms" because they are held by a member of the royal family who is entitled to the style Royal Highness. Under the 20 November 1917 Letters Patent of King George V, the titular dignity of Prince/Princess and the style Royal Highness are restricted to the sons of a Sovereign, the sons of a Sovereign's sons, and the eldest living son of the eldest son of a Prince of Wales. For example, when the current Duke of Gloucester and Duke of Kent are succeeded by their eldest sons, the Earl of Ulster and the Earl of St. Andrews, respectively, those peerages (or rather,.

Jornada del Muerto desert - Jornada del Muerto desert The Jornada del Muerto ("journey of the deadman" in Spanish) was the name given by the Spanish Conquistadors to the 1660s route northward from New Spain, or Mexico. This route northward, taken by the earliest European settlers, by horseback, oxen and foot, led to what is now the State of New Mexico, in the U.S.. It covers harsh territory, called to this day, in Mexico, El Fronterizo, 'The Frontier'. The name doubtless was applied to the valley surrounding a major river, called Rio Bravo, now called the Rio Grande, in the U.S. After this journey, these earliest Spanish settlers encountered, not the Seven Cities of Cibola, but the humbler walled villages of the Pueblo dwellers, who had a well-developed agriculture and a peaceable.

Viceroyalty of Peru - Created in 1542, the Viceroyalty of Peru (in Spanish, Virreinato del Perú) contained most of Spanish-ruled South America until the creation of the separate viceroyalties of New Granada (now Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá and Venezuela, the last-named previously in the Viceroyalty of New Spain) in 1717 and the Río de la Plata (Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay) in 1776. The Viceroyalty ended with the independence of the republics of Chile (1818) and Peru (1821). During the 17th century the Viceroyalty contained six audiencias or provincial administrations: Panamá, Santa Fé de Bogotá (Colombia), Quito (Ecuador), Lima (Peru proper), Charcas (Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay) and Chile.
