Infinity - Infinity Infinity or the infinite (from the Latin "finitus", meaning limited -- mathematical symbol: ∞) is that which is not "finite", that which has no limit in space or time. In mathematics, where this is known as the "transfinite"; it is that which is not merely finite, but which may have some limit beyond that. Table of contents showTocToggle("show","hide") 1 Ancient view of infinity 2 Early modern views 3 Mathematical conception 4 Modern views 5 The Absolute 6 Current Views Ancient view of infinity The traditional view derives from Aristotle: "... it is always possible to think of a larger number: for the number of times a magnitude can be bisected is infinite. Hence the infinite is potential, never actual; the number of parts that can.

Infinity Inc. - Infinity Inc. Infinity Inc. is a team of comic book superheroes in the DC Comics universe, mostly composed of the children and heirs of the Justice Society of America. Created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway, they first appeared in All-Star Squadron #25 (September 1983). It is also the name of the comic book starring the group, which ran from issue #1 (March 1984) through #51 (June 1988). The group was organized by the original Star-Spangled Kid in Infinity Inc. #1 when a number of JSA proteges were denied admission to the JSA. The series ended with the death of the Star-Spangled Kid, and presumably the group disbanded shortly thereafter. Several members have gone on to supporting roles in other comics series. Mostly notably, The Fury.
H infinity - H infinity H∞ or H infinity is a method in control theory for the design of optimal controllers. (please explain here the theory) Essentially is an optimization method that take in consideration strong mathematical definition of the restrictions on the expected behaviour of the closed loop and the strict stability of it. It is very appreciated due of its strong mathematical foundation, the mathematical way to express engineering restrictions, its optimization/optimatility aspect and the ability to include both classic and robust control concepts in a single design framework. The "H" stand for Hardy space. "Infinity" stand of the fact that it design to accomplish minimax restrictions in the frequency domain. The infinity norm represent the maximum value of a vector..

Axiom of infinity - Axiom of infinity In axiomatic set theory and the branches of logic, mathematics, and computer science that use it, the axiom of infinity is one of the axioms of Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory. In the formal language of the Zermelo-Fraenkel axioms, the axiom reads: ∃ ω, {} ∈ ω ∧ (∀ x, x ∈ ω ⇒ x ∪ {x} ∈ ω); or in words: There is a set ω, such that the empty set is in ω and such that whenever x is a member of ω, the set formed by taking the union of x with its singleton {x} is also a member of ω. To understand this axiom, first we define x ∪ {x} as the successor of x. Note that the axiom of pairing allows.
CastleInfinity - CastleInfinity Castle Infinity is a free game developed by a NPO, Castle Infinity, Inc. It is an online game for kids of all ages. It works on almost any Windows based computer. It was originally developed by Starwave, but production soon halted. A few years later, Castle Infinity, Inc. was created, and the game went back into production. Stargate Infinity - Stargate Infinity Stargate Infinity is an animated spin-off of the television series Stargate SG-1, which is in turn a spin-off of the 1994 film Stargate. Stargate Infinity is co-produced by MGM and DIC Entertainment. It premiered in September, 2002, as part of FOX's Saturday morning line-up. The writers and producers of Stargate SG-1 and other future live-action Stargate projects are not at all involved with Infinity. According to SG-1 co-creator Brad Wright, 'the animated series should not be considered official Stargate canon.'.
Kasinadhuni Viswanath - wanted to show the stark diminishing of "Indian music/culture at the expense of the intruding western influences", with the critically acclaimed movie Sankaraabharanam (The Jewel of Shiva). He made a series of such classical oriented movies all show casing the bliss in Indian art forms. The list includes Saagara Sangamam (Tyrst with the infinity), Sruthi Layalu, Sirivennela (Golden Moon light), Swarna Kamalam (Highest Offering), and Swathi Kiranam (Ray of Talent). He also made a significant contribution on the social front with movies like Swathi Muthyam (Rare Gem), Swayam Krushi (Attitude towards work), Subhodayam (Good Morning), SubhaLekha (Wedding Invitation), Aapadhbhaandhavudu (Saviour), and Subha Sankalpam (Good Will). All his movies have some terrific music mostly from Swara Brahma K. V. Mahadevan or Maestro Ilaiayaraja. Lately, he has taken a sabbatical from direction and.
Kinetic energy - inertia and ω its angular velocity. In Einstein's relativistic mechanics, the kinetic energy of a body is where m is its total mass, m0 is its mass (or rest mass), and c is the speed of light in vacuum. Relativity theory states that the total mass of an object grows towards infinity as its velocity approaches the speed of light, and thus that it is impossible to accelerate an object beyond this boundary. Where gravity is weak, and objects move at much slower velocities than light (e.g. in everyday phenomena on Earth), Newton's formula is an excellent approximation of relativistic kinetic energy. Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser theorem - with the independent periods changed. The KAM theorem specifies quantitatively what level of perturbation can be applied for this to be true, and establishes the sufficient condition for the motion of a nonlinear system to be regular. Most importantly, it implies that the motion remains multiply periodic for an arbitrarily long period. However, the nonresonant condition of the KAM theorem becomes increasingly difficult to satisfy for systems of more degrees of freedom. The KAM theorem also implies that in certain special circumstances the invariant tori will be destroyed and the orbit may become chaotic or wander off to infinity. A destruction of invariant tori will generally occur when there are resonances in the perturbed system..
KROQ - rock and roll since 1968. The FM station became KROQ-FM. The two stations broadcast identical programing through 1978, when the AM station was sold. In the early 1990s, KROQ was purchased by Infinity Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Viacom. KROQ plays alternative, new wave, nu metal, rap and indie artists. James Tiptree, Jr - her grisly novella, "The Screwfly Solution". Sheldon continued writing under the Tiptree pen name for another decade. On May 19, 1987, Sheldon took the life of her 86 year-old blind and bedridden invalid husband, and then took her own. They were found dead, hand in hand in bed, in their Virginia home; the suicide note Sheldon left had been written years earlier, and saved until needed. In an interview with Charles Platt in the early 1980s Sheldon spoke of her emotional problems and previous suicide attempts. Much of her work contains dark and pessimistic elements, which in retrospect can be seen as reflective of her troubled emotions. The James Tiptree, Jr. Award is given in her honor each year for a work of science fiction or fantasy that expands or explores.

John Wyclif - appeared in Wyclif's day was the purpose of his book on the power of the pope. The Church militant, Wyclif taught, needs a head--but one whom God gives the Church. The elector [cardinal] can only make someone a pope if the choice relates to one who is elect [of God]. But that is not always the case. It may be that the elector is himself not predestined and chooses one who is in the same case--a veritable Antichrist. One must regard as a true pope one who in teaching and life most nearly follows Jesus Christ and Saint Peter. Wyclif distinguished whta he saw as the true papacy from the false papacy. Since all signs indicated that Urban VI was a reforming and consequently a "true" pope, the enthusiasm which Wyclif.

John Wallis - given partial credit for the development of modern calculus. He is also credited with introducing the infinity symbol, ∞. John Wallis was born at Ashford, Kent. He was educated at Felstead school, and at the age of fifteen mastered arithmetic after becoming fascinated by his brother's book on the topic. As it was intended that he should be a doctor, he was sent to Emmanuel College, Cambridge, while there he kept an act on the doctrine of the circulation of the blood; that was said to have been the first occasion in Europe on which this theory was publicly maintained in a disputation. His interests, however, centred on mathematics. He was elected to a fellowship at Queens' College, Cambridge, and subsequently took orders, but on the whole adhered to the Puritan.
