Jaka's Story - Jaka's Story Jaka's Story is a graphic novel written and drawn by Dave Sim, with background art by Gerhard. The fifth book in the Cerebus the Aardvark series, it is regarded by many as the series' highpoint thanks to its subtle characterisation, expert pacing and innovative use of the comic-book medium. Warning: Wikipedia contains spoilers. The title character of the series is relegated to the sidelines in Jaka's Story. Instead, the action focuses on Jaka, the love of Cerebus' life. Supporting characters include Rick, her naive, enthusiastic husband; Pud Withers, the harmless-seeming, but emasculated and mother-worshipping landlord who lusts after her; and Oscar the poet, (based on Oscar Wilde) who has a crush on Rick. The plot of the book is entirely driven by the interactions.

Cerebus the Aardvark - quickly. Citing as his self-originated commandment, "Thou shall break every law in the book", Sim has done everything from flipping the page from horizontal to vertical and all stages in between to alternating comics with prose narrative, to including real dead or living people (himself included) in the storyline, all in an effort to explode the conventions of the North American comic book in almost every conceivable way. After a transitional period in which the episodic adventures strayed further and further from an the conventions of a heroic fantasy story, the twenty five-issue graphic novel High Society segued the narrative into a complex political satire and drama. Sim was joined by Gerhard, who gave the series impressively rendered backgrounds that became a visual hallmark, after issue #65. Sim became an outspoken.

Kaled - the later serial, the race are called Kaleds and have been involved in a generations-long war of attrition with the Thals, not the short nuclear winter described previously. (The serial also suggests that the Kaleds' mutations were not as bad as implied by the earlier account, and that their development into the Daleks was engineered by the Kaled scientist Davros for his own purposes.) All later serials treated Genesis of the Daleks as the true story and used "Kaled". Several theories exist to explain the discrepencies, outside of the real one in which different production teams simply re-wrote Skaro's history. One theory holds that the account in The Daleks, which comes from centuries-old Thal oral history, is simply wrong. Other more complicated theories, making use of the time travel aspect of.
