Nocturne - Nocturne A nocturne (from the French for "nocturnal") is usually a musical composition that is inspired by, or evocative of the night. The name nocturne was first applied to pieces in the 18th century, when it indicated an emsemble piece in several movements. Sometimes it carried the Italian language equivalent of nocturne, notturna, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Serenata Notturna being one example. At this time, the piece was not necessarily evocative of the night, but might merely be intended for performance at night, much like a serenade. In its more familiar form as a single-movement character piece usually written for solo piano, the nocturne was cultivated primarily in the 19th century. The first nocturnes to be written as such were by John Field, but the most famous.

James McNeill Whistler - essentially be concerned with the beautiful arrangement of colors in harmony, not with the accurate portrayal of the natural world, as recommended by the critic John Ruskin. In 1878 Whistler sued Ruskin for libel after the critic condemned his painting Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket, calling the artist a "coxcomb". Whistler won a farthing in nominal damages. The cost of the case bankrupted him. Symphony in White, No. 1: The White Girl Painted 1862 Whistler was friendly with various French artists, illustrating the book Les Chauves-Souris with Antonio de La Gandara. He also knew the impressionists, notably Edouard Manet, and was also a leading figure in the Aesthetic Movement. He was well-known for his biting wit, especially in exchanges with his friend Oscar Wilde. Both were well-known figures.

Instrumental rock - and sinuous saxophone-organ lead. And bluesman Jimmy Reed charted with "Boogie in the Dark" and "Roll and Rhumba". Jazz saxophonist Earl Bostic had a career renaissance with his rocking instrumentals like "Harlem Nocturne" and "Earl's Rhumboogie". Other jazz players with early pop hits included Tab Smith and Arnett Cobb. Indeed, many straight rhythm and blues sax players also had success with instrumentals, including Big Jay MacNeeley, Red Prysock, and New Orleans stalwart Lee Allen, whose "Walking with Mr. Lee" was a major hit. The lead melodies of hit instrumentals could emphasize the organ (The Tornados' "Telstar") or the saxophone (the Champs' "Tequila"), but most often it was the guitar, as the twangy sound of Duane Eddy ("Rebel 'Rouser") and the visceral fuzz tone of Link Wray. Wray's song, the menacing "Rumble",.
Gothic rock - Goth movement is often more disinterested in social and political values than many other subcultures, focusing largely on personal beliefs and often disregarding wider culture; although like any generalization this does not always stand. Siouxsie up to and including the Nocturne (1983) album is undeniably goth rock. After 1983, their output shifted to softer focus on Gothic themes. The Cure's contribution to the genre is centered around Faith, Seventeen Seconds and Pornography. This sound originated from the song "Three Imaginary Boys" on the first album (Three Imaginary.

Abstract art - to make the illustrative function of visual art obsolete. Even before the widespread use of photography some artists, such as James McNeill Whistler were placing greater emphasis on visual sensation than the depiction of objects. Whistler argued that art should concern itself with the harmonious arrangement of colours, just as music deals with the harmonious arrangement of sounds. Whistler's painting Nocturne in Black and Gold (1875) is often seen as a major move towards abstraction. Later artists such as Wassily Kandinsky argued that modern science dealt with dynamic forces, revealing that matter was ultimately spiritual in character. Art should display the spiritual forces behind the visual world. Wassily Kandinsky and Kasimir Malevich are generally seen as the first fully abstract artists. Kandinky's art is sometimes called 'soft edged', while Malevich's is.

Siouxsie & the Banshees - the aforementioned "Lords Prayer" track. However, two days into a tour promoting this album, Morris and McKay unexpectedly quit the band. They were hastily replaced by Robert Smith (whose band The Cure were the Banshees' support for the tour) on guitar and Budgie (real name Peter Clark, formerly of The Slits and Big In Japan) on drums. After the completion of the tour, Budgie stayed on as the Banshees' permanent drummer, whilst John McGeoch, formerly of Magazine joined as guitarist. (Can somebody bring the story more up to date from hereon in, something more substantial than the following would be nice...) While probably best known by the mainstream for songs like "Kiss them For Me", Siouxsie and the Banshees has done everything from punk (in the 70s) to goth to new.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - well as the Ocarina of Time. Link went to the Temple to Time and played the song. Suddenly the Door of Time opened and revealed a room with a sword stuck in stone. When Link tried to draw the sword out of the stone, he was much too young, but being the chosen one he was kept inside the Chamber of the Sages for years until he came of age. While he was trapped within the chamber, the door to the sacred realm was left open. Soon Ganondorf found it and obtained the triforce after battling many others who desired it. Because Ganondorf wished so much for power, the triforce gave him only that. Destiny had chosen Zelda and Link to personify wisdom and courage. Ganondorf wanted to find the two.
