Raekwon - Raekwon Raekwon (born Corey Woods aka the Chef, Lex Diamonds) is an American rapper and a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Though he is not as well known as such other Wu-Tang members like Method Man, Ol' Dirty Bastard or RZA, Raekwon has released some of the most critically acclaimed solo work from the Wu-Tang. Raekwon joined the Wu-Tang Clan in time to participate on Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the group's massively successful debut. Raekwon signed a solo deal with Loud Records and released his only solo LP, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx in 1995 to rave reviews, though the album's sales were sluggish. Working with Ghostface Killah, Raekwon's solo album was one of the masterpieces of rap in the 1990s and is still remembered.
Inspectah Deck - music) and has appeared on Wu-Tang side projects and solo records like GZA's Liquid Swords and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. In 1995 (1995 in music) Deck released his first solo track (technically credited to the whole Clan), "Let Me at Them", on the Tales from the Hood soundtrack. He has released only one solo album, Uncontrolled Substance (1999, 1999 in music)..
Voodoo (album) - lover instead, using the titular southern colloquialism (a conflation of one more time and again) to ask for another chance. The DJ Premierproduced "Devil's Pie", a funk and hip hop diatribe on money worship ; it memorably appeared on the soundtrack to the film Belly, which starred several rappers. ?estlove, a drummer, was the album's "co-pilot" according to D'Angelo, and helped designed the sparse funky soul and hip hop beats on Voodoo. Track listing "Playa Playa" (D'Angelo/Questlove/Stone) - 7:06 "Devil's Pie" (with Raekwon, INI and Fat Joe, produced by DJ Premier) - 5:21 "Left & Right" (with Redman and Method Man) - 4:46 "The Line" (D'Angelo) - 5:16 "Send It On" (Archer/Bell/Brown/D'Angelo/Mickens/Redd/Smith/Sparrow/Stone/Thomas/Westfield) - 5:56 "Chicken Grease" (D'Angelo/Poyser) - 4:38 "One Mo' 'Gin" (D'Angelo) - 6:13 "The Root" (Archer/D'Angelo/Hunter) - 6:33 "Spanish.
Gangsta rap - influence of Ice-T and N.W.A, though Schoolly D and Slick Rick are East Coast rappers. Other major influences include the pioneering hardcore work of politically-aware performers like Public Enemy (It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, 1988), Ice Cube (AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, 1990) and Boogie Down Productions (Criminal Minded, 1987), and the similarly "poetic gangsta" prose and poetry of Ice-T's namesake, Iceberg Slim, and the proto-gangsta rap of LL Cool J (Mama Said Knock You Out, 1990) and Too $hort (Life Is... Too Short, 1998). Kool G Rap's epic tales helped inspire the related Mafioso rap phenomenon, which later achieved some mainstream success and great critical acclaim in 1995 (see 1995 in music) with albums like Raekwon'sOnly Built 4 Cuban Linx and AZ's Do or Die and Mobb.
Ghostface Killah - began a solo career. First appearing on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (with clan-mate Raekwon, 1995, see 1995 in music), then on the soundtracks to Sunset Park and Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. His first solo LP was Iron Man in 1996 (see 1996 in music), which was successful in hip hop circles and debuted at #2 on the pop charts. His follow-up was Supreme Clientele in 2000 (see 2000 in music)..

Aquemini - more" (this refers to Southernplayalisticadillacmuzak and ATLiens). "Rosa Parks", named after the legendary civil rights activist Rosa Parks, is a funky, catchy song rooted in the bluesy chorus "Ah ha, hush that fuss/Everybody move to the back of the bus/Do you wanna bump and slump with us/We the type of people make the club get crunk" and verses describing a bizarre, psychedelic experience with a Gypsy woman who gives him advice: "she hipped me to some life game/To stimulate then activate the left and right brain". She advises Big Boi that "yo only just as funky as yo last cut/You focus on the past your ass'll be a has what". The song ends with a powerful harmonica break. After the song, there is a humorous skit where Andre and Big Boi.
Big Pun - emerged from the underground rap scene in the Bronx in the late 1990s. He appeared on albums from Raekwon, the Beatnuts and Fat Joe and eventually signed to Loud Records. After an advertising blitz, "I'm Not a Player" was an underground hit. His full length debut followed in 1998, Capital Punishment. With a group of Latino rappers, Big Pun formed the Terror Squad before dying of a heart attack (at 700 lbs). A posthumous album, Yeeeah Baby came out a few weeks after his death in 2000..
Cappadonna - featured on many Wu-Tang Clan projects. He has appeared on Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (1995, 1995 in music) album and made his debut on a collective Wu-Tang album with 1997's Wu-Tang Forever (1997, 1997 in music). Cappadonna then released his first solo record, The Pillage, in 1998 (see 1998 in music) to popular acclaim but mixed reviews. His latest album is The Yin and the Yang in 2001 (see 2001 in music)..

Supreme Clientele - widely acclaimed and is commonly considered one of the best Wu-Tang solo albums, along with GZA's Liquid Swords and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Unusual for a W-Tang album, Supreme Clientele is not producer entirely by the RZA, who only did three tracks. Relatively unknown Wu-Tang Inspectah Deck and others did most of the production. Supreme Clientele peaked at #2 and #7 on Billboard's (North America) Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and the Billboard 200 list, respectively. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx - Linx is an East Coast rap album by gangsta rapper Raekwon, released in 1995 (see 1995 in music). His first solo album, Raekwon, a member of The Wu-Tang Clan, quickly established himself a reputation as one of the most critically praised members of the collective. Only Built for Cuban Linx is a solo album, but, like most Wu-Tang solo records, includes a great many collaborations, here especially with RZA and Ghostface Killah. Nigga Please - to be free-form; in spite of its inacessibility, Nigga Please was a critical and commercial success, and remains one of the most popular solo albums in the Wu-Tang Clan's discography (perhaps second only to Method Man's Tical or Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx). Wu-Tang Clan - with other labels, Loud/RCA finally agreed and the debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers was a popular and critically-acclaimed album, though it took some time to gain momentum. Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers did indeed establish the group as a creative and influential rap group in the early nineties (it was released in 1993), allowing GZA, RZA, Raekwon, Method Man and Ol' Dirty Bastard to negotiate solo contracts. The name comes from a mythical sword from Chinese folklore, supposedly wielded by a group of legendary warriors. RZA was the first to follow up on the success of 36 Chambers with a side project. He founded the Gravediggaz with Prince Paul (a producer, most famous for De La Soul), Fruitkwan (of Stetsasonic) and Poetic (of the Brothers Grimm). The Gravediggaz released.

Liquid Swords - of the best Wu-Tang solo albums, on par with classics like Ironman (Ghostface Killah) and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (Raekwon). Liquid Swords is characteristic of the Wu-Tang Clan in its distinctive, spare, menacing beats by producer RZA, and its cinematic themes relating to kung fu movies. The album begins with a monologue from a little girl; her monologue, and many of the other skits scattered throughout the album, are from the cult classic kung fu film Shaolin Vs. Lama.
