Simon Le Bon - Simon Le Bon Simon John Charles Le Bon (born October 27, 1958) is the lead singer and lyricist of the pop band Duran Duran. He was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England. He joined Duran Duran in 1980 after his ex-girlfriend Fiona Kemp (a bar maid at the Rum Runner club where Duran got their start) introduced him to the band. The band's first album, Duran Duran, was released in 1981, and they quickly shot to fame as part of the New Romantic movement. Three more albums followed in quick succession: Rio (1982), Seven and the Ragged Tiger (1983) and Arena (1984). Arcadia (band) - Arcadia is the name of a band formed in 1985 by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran during a break in that band's schedule. Arcadia recorded one album, the platinum-selling So Red The Rose, which produced the singles "Election Day", and "The Flame". Stephen Duffy - 10 for three months. In 1986, he began writing and recording music that would become The Lilac Time's first album, released on Swordfish Records. more needed In 1999, Duffy found a tape recording of early (pre-Simon Le Bon) Duran Duran music in storage; shortly after, he had a chance meeting with Nick Rhodes, Duran's keyboardist. Reminiscences led to a desire to collaborate, and they ended up re-recording the music on the tape. Rio - The Kershenbaum versions of "My Own Way" and "Lonely In Your Nightmare" are only available on the second and third pressings of this vinyl album; they have not yet been officially issued on CD. As the album began to take off, Capitol rushed a third pressing of the Rio album into stores, identical to the second, except that the "album version" of "Hungry Like The Wolf" was replaced with longer Kershenbaum "nite version". The third pressing is vastly more common than the second, and has a matrix number (ST-1-12211-Z16 #2). On December 3, the Kershenbaum remix of the "Hungry" single was released in US, some six months after its initial UK release. The single included both the album version and the Carnival remix. It peaked at #3 in the US on.
Roger Taylor (Duran Duran) - 1980s. After their massive round-the-world tour in 1984, the shy and retiring Roger was burned out and exhausted. He worked that year with Duran bandmates Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes on the album So Red The Rose for their side project Arcadia, but that band never toured, and Roger did not participate in its promotion. Roger played one last show with Duran at the Live Aid benefit concert in Philadelphia, but at the end of 1985, he bowed out of the rock world and retired to the English countryside with his wife and children. In 1994, Roger joined Duran Duran in France to play drums on a couple of tracks for the covers album Thank You. In 1997, after his children were grown, Roger began flirting with the music industry.

Nick Rhodes - band, Nick decided to change his name, for "aesthetic reasons", to Rhodes (possibly after the Rhodes piano, or his hair, which was vividly red at the time). Rhodes and singer Simon Le Bon are the only members to have been with the band throughout its 25-year career. After leaving school at 16, he worked as a DJ at a local Birmingham club called "The Rum Runner". As the band coalesced into its final lineup in 1979-80, Duran Duran started playing at the club, and the owners ended up as the band's managers. The band achieved rapid success, and Rhodes was a driving force throughout. Jules Simon - Jules Simon Jules François Simon (December 27, 1814 - 1896) was a French statesman and philosopher. He was born at Lorient. His father was a linen-draper from Lorraine, who renounced Protestantism before his second marriage with a Catholic Breton. Jules Simon was the son of this second marriage. The family name was Suisse, which Simon dropped in favour of his third forename.
