Alsager
Alsager is a town in Cheshire, England, to the north-west of Stoke-on-Trent, and east of Crewe. The town has a population of about 12,000, and is administered by Congleton borough.It is off junction 16 of the M6, and is also served by the Crewe to Stoke-on-Trent railway line. The Trent and Mersey Canal also runs close to the town. Alsager is home to a branch of the Manchester Metropolitan University, and is a campus town.
Alsager was a small farming village until the 19th century when due to its rail connections and rural character, it became a home of choice for pottery managers from nearby Stoke-on-Trent. During World War Two a large armaments factory was built outside the town, and it was expanded dramatically to house the influx of factory workers.
