Angus Calder

Angus Calder is a historian specialising in cultural and social history particularly relating to the civil population of Great Britain during World War II.

He is the author of three books:

  • The Myth of the Blitz
  • The People's War
  • Revolutionary Empire

The Myth of the Blitz is a particularly important and controversial book since it exposes a great deal of the propaganda and social myth-making which was rife during World War II in Britain at that time.
