Arditti Quartet

Well known string quartet founded in 1974. Its members are:

• Irvine Arditti, Graeme Jennings (violins)
• Ralf Ehlers (viola)
• Rohan de Saram (cello)

They are particularly associated with contemporary music, and have given many first performances. They have given world premieres of music by Harrison Birtwistle, John Cage, Elliott Carter, Sofia Gubaidalina, Gyorgy Ligeti, Conlon Nancarrow, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Iannis Xenakis.
