Bihari language

Bihari is a name given to a group of Indo-Aryan languages spoken in the Bihar region of India.

The Bihari group consists of:

  • Angika (725,000 speakers)
  • Bhojpuri (26,254,000 speakers). Written in the Kaithi script.
  • Kudmali (37,000 speakers)
  • Magahi (11,362,000 speakers)
  • Maithili (24,191,900 speakers)
  • Panchpargania (274,000 speakers)
  • Sadri (1,965,000 speakers)
  • Surajpuri (273,000 speakers)
