Girl Guides - scouting organisation for girls and young women. It was founded as the female version of Lord Robert Baden-Powell's Boy Scouts, on March 12, 1912. In September, 1908, a number of girls turned up to the first Scout Rally at Crystal Palace, calling themselves Girl Scouts. Lord Baden-Powell set up the Girl Guides as a parallel movement for them, run by his sister Agnes Baden-Powell. While Agnes played a major role until her death, Lord Baden-Powell's wife, Lady Olave Baden-Powell, became Chief Guide of England in 1918, and World Chief Guide in 1930. The Girl Guides were named after the famous corps of guides in India. Baden-Powell thought that to call them Scouts might alienate the boys, not to mention the girls' parents! As girls are now allowed to join the Scouts.

Despite this secrecy, the Order of the Arrow is not a secret society, as secret societies are forbidden within the Boy Scouts of America. Although its ceremonies are safeguarded from non-members without a specific reason to know in order to preserve their impact on future candidates, any.

All Grown Up! - a handful of new characters have also been added, including a girl named Savannah (Laraine Newman), the leader of the popular crowd at the Rugrats' school, who looks down on Angelica, as she has been a popular teen for much longer than Angelica; in the Rugrats' 10th anniversary episode, which served as the pilot, she was referred to as Samantha Shane and had a somewhat different personality and was Angelica's best friend. Some time before the start of the series, the often unreliable TV Tome website published an episode guide that turned out to be fake (it was later replaced by another obtained from Klasky Csupo), in which one episode was supposedly going to be a parody of Malcolm in the Middle. When the series premiered its regular run, more than.
Oggy Oggy Oggy - variations are often heard at sporting events, political rallies and around boy scout and girl guide campfires. The usual form of the chant consists of two groups, one shouting the word "Oggy!" and the other group shouting the word "Oi!" Often a single individual will shout "Oggy" and everyone else will shout the reply. The words are shouted according to the following pattern. Oggy Oggy Oggy! Oi Oi Oi! Oggy Oggy Oggy! Oi Oi Oi! Oggy, Oi! Oggy, Oi! Oggy Oggy Oggy! Oi Oi Oi! One possible theory for the origin of the chant stems from Cornwall. An Oggy is a slang term for a Cornish pasty and the tin miner's wives would shout "Oggy Oggy Oggy" when delivering pasties to their husbands. In the 1970s the Welsh folk singer and.

This experience in time led to his writing 'Aids to Scouting' upon which 'Scouting for Boys' was ultimately modeled. With his connections to Malta and his many Maltese friends, it was natural that The Scout Association of Malta would be the first overseas branch of the British Association. It was formed only months after the first.
