Hokie
“Hokie” is an American agricultural term referring to an emasculated turkey. While this word originated as a nonsense cheer by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University students, the derogatory meaning associated with it by rival schools has gained popularity in farming circles. The 4-H Animal Awareness Workbook, among other sources, refers to a Hokie as a castrated male turkey.
