L.A. Thompson

L.A. Marcus Adna Thompson was best known for his early work developing rollercoasters. His most notable contribution was the scenic railway, which took riders through a themed environment (such as , the canals of Venice or the Swiss Alps) throughout the ride. This is similar to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Disaster Transport today, only with different themes.
