Maprotiline
Maprotiline is an antidepressant drug from the tetracyclic antidepressant drug group. It is also known by the trade name Ludiomil®.Maprotiline is a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. This increases the amount of noradrenaline available to synapses which maprotiline is active in. Interestingly for an antidepressant medication, it has no known effect on serotonin, a neurotransmitter widely thought to be involved in mood regulation and therefore clinical depression.
