Medical Scientism is a pejorative expression used by some in the alternative medicine movement to describe scientific or evidence-based medicine, particularly the belief that all treatments should be subject to randomized clinical trials and double-blind, peer reviewed studies published in respectable journalss. Its implication is presumably that a non-science-based form of medical knowledge is both possible and preferable.
