Norman Morrison

Norman Morrison (born December 29, 1933, in Erie, Pennsylvania) is best known as a protester of the Vietnam War who set himself on fire (self-immolation) in front of The Pentagon building on November 2, 1965 to protest the United States involvement in the war. At the time, he was a 32-year old devout Quaker, and father of three.

Seven days later, Roger Allen LaPorte performed a similar act in New York City, in front of the United Nations building.
