SanomaWSOY is among the biggest media groups in Finland. It owns the following:

• Helsingin Sanomat
• Ilta-Sanomat
• HTV
• Nelonen

SanomaWSOY's stock is listed in Helsinki Stock Exchange. Its biggest owner is Aatos Erkko, whom father and grandfather founded the company first by publishing Helsingin Sanomat and then Ilta-Sanomat. Later, the company bought Helsinki Cable Network (HTV) and Helsinki's local television channel PTV, which name was changed first to PTV4 and then to Nelonen, and the distribution was made broader.
